Honywood School is an exceptional place in which to work and to learn.
The vision that drives our work asks every member of our community to be willing to expand their thinking about education and about learning so that we can all become both happy and successful now and throughout life. We are always interested in hearing from applicants who wish to work alongside our staff and with our young people in order to achieve this aim.
We offer a challenging learning environment where we quite deliberately engage with the process of learning and teaching through a model that contrasts with that which the overwhelming majority of secondary schools offer. Our work continues to push forward educational practice to develop and to seek out new and innovative ways to improve and support learning.
We care a great deal about our staff and are proactive in offering opportunities for ongoing professional development and learning. Each of our staff is given the opportunity to engage in Leadership Learning which is tailored according to individual objectives but which might involve fixed term internships, secondments, acting-up, job shadowing and engaging with a programme of learning alongside like-minded colleagues.
Ultimately, the expertise, passion for learning and education that our teachers and support staff hold in common is our greatest asset and is one in which we continue to invest so that we can realise the very best experience for all our learners. We offer an excellent induction and outstanding on-going staff development which will prepare colleagues for progression in their careers.
Honywood is situated on the outskirts of the small market town of Coggeshall. The school is situated just off the A120 and offers good road links to Braintree (7 miles), Colchester (10 miles) and Chelmsford (17 miles).
