Thank you to our amazing staff
I would like to thank all of the staff at Honywood who have supported this week’s enrichment week activities. A lot of behind the scenes planning goes into these events and they would never happen if our staff did not go above and beyond to ensure that these things run smoothly; taking an entire cohort out anywhere for the day is tough at the best of times – in the run up to Christmas it is even tougher. I had the pleasure of accompanying 11KCo on a trip to London to complete the Monopoly Challenge on Tuesday and got to see first hand how our Enrichment Programme really adds to the educational, social and cultural capital of our learners. On Wednesday we were back in London with our C8’s to visit the Science and Natural History Museum. On Thursday our C9’s were ‘paying it forward’ for the community. This included visits to local primary schools, the local church, the parish council as well as welcoming the community in for our over 65 tea and IT lessons. C10 spent the day focusing on their own wellbeing, attending a series of workshops. Today our C7s will be attending a Panto followed up by a performance that they have been preparing all week. I hope that families have had a chance to discuss the range of activities that learners have been engaged in this week which have been designed to support our wider curriculum aims of providing an enriching curriculum.
Looking ahead we have only one full week left of school followed by two and a half days. Don’t forget the early finish on Wednesday 18th December. Next week will be our last Headlines of the year.
I wish you a festive weekend.
James Saunders
