We are very proud of our dress code, which allows our learners to stand out as smartly dressed young people ready to engage in serious and successful learning. We acknowledge however, that as our learning model has evolved to be tailored to meet individual needs so that learning is designed to ensure that young people learn to make good choices, taking authentic responsibility for themselves, uniformity throws up some incongruity.

Our dress code is designed around a non-negotiable principle that underpins all that we do at the school: respect for oneself, respect for other people and respect for the world around us. We will therefore not accept youngsters making insufficient effort to dress smartly. We ask our learners to ensure that all items of clothing worn for school reflect the serious learning ethos we have created. Our expectations for our dress code are as follows:

Where youngsters choose to wear jewellery, this should be minimised. We accept that some youngsters will choose to have their ears pierced, however, the issue of body piercing, whether this be in the ear or elsewhere, raises a number of potential health concerns. We will not, therefore, accept youngsters attending with piercings other than those in their ears. Where ears are pierced, once again for safety reasons, small stud earrings must be warn.

PE KIT

All learners must have the following kit:

Indoors Outdoors
·       White polo shirt

·       Navy shorts

·       White socks

·       Training shoes with non-marking soles

·       Navy Blue Rugby shirt with royal blue side stripes and yellow piping *

·       Optional – Navy blue ¼ zip sweatshirt with royal blue side stripes and yellow piping *

·       Navy Blue shorts

·       Blue football socks

·       Studded boots

Polo shirts, Rugby shirts, sweatshirts, shorts and blue socks can be purchased via Anglia Sports and School Wear. (need to add in link)

In cold weather learners may wear leggings/base layers under their shorts/tops in a plain blue or black colour. In wet weather, a towel maybe required for learners to shower. We would strongly recommend that all learners wishing to participate in rugby and/or football are equipped with shin pads and a gum shield. Should your child need to be excused PE for medical reasons then please provide a letter explaining the problem. Learners will be expected to bring their kit so they can still participate in the learning session as a coach or official where fitness allows.

* Please note that a Rugby shirt or sweatshirt can be purchased. However, due to the zip, the sweatshirt will not be permitted in Rugby.
